Privacy Policy

Vyuva is India's ad-free video platform. We do not sell your data to advertisers because we do not run ads. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under Indian law.

Introduction

vyuva.in (“Vyuva”, “we”, “us”) is an Indian video discovery and community platform operated for users in India and worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your choices.

We are committed to transparency: Vyuva does not sell your personal data to advertisers — because we do not run advertisements.

Information we collect

We collect information in these categories:

  • Account data: email address, display name, username, profile photo, and authentication tokens when you sign up or sign in.
  • Usage data: videos you watch, search queries, likes, dislikes, comments, subscriptions, watch history, and preferences — to power your library and recommendations.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, and coarse logs needed for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention.
  • Catalog metadata: public video and channel information indexed to provide search and discovery (titles, thumbnails, descriptions, view counts).
  • Cookies: session cookies to keep you signed in and theme preferences. See Cookies below.

Third-party embedded players

Many videos on Vyuva play through embedded players from third-party platforms (for example YouTube). When you watch embedded content, that platform may collect data under its own privacy policy. Vyuva does not control third-party tracking inside embeds.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of embedded providers. Vyuva’s own data practices are described in this document.

How we use information

  • Provide and improve the service: playback, search, recommendations, comments, and subscriptions.
  • Secure the platform: detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and protect accounts.
  • Communicate with you: account-related emails (e.g. password reset) when you request them.
  • Aggregated analytics: understand usage patterns without selling individual profiles to advertisers.

When we share information

We do not sell personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

  • Infrastructure providers (e.g. hosting, database) who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal requirements: when required by applicable Indian law, court order, or to protect safety and rights.
  • With your direction: when you choose to post public comments or profile information visible to others.

Data retention

We retain account and usage data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with law and resolve disputes. You may request account deletion by contacting us; self-serve deletion is being added.

Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and debugging.

Your rights (India)

Under applicable Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), you may have rights to access, correct, erase, and withdraw consent for certain processing. To exercise rights, contact us at the address below.

We will verify requests and respond within reasonable timelines required by law.

Children

Vyuva is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us for removal.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including HTTPS, access controls, and rate limiting. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password and report suspicious activity.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
